I currently hold the position of Professor of Political Science at Sam Houston State University. From 2018 to 2020 I served as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and I began my academic career at Missouri State University. My teaching and research interests lie in the areas of American government, political behavior, public opinion, and political psychology. My research focuses on questions about political attitudes and behavior, and the related topics of survey questionnaire design and public opinion more generally. Links to many of my publications and some recent conference papers are available on the Publications page of this site.
I regularly teach undergraduate courses in American Government, Texas Government, Attitudes & Behavior, Politics & the Media, and Statistical Methods.
